Bonding combines several mobile connections into one faster, more resilient link. Pair Teltonika routers with Bondix software and you can bond multiple 5G and 4G SIMs, break out with a single public IP, and hold a stream or a site online when one network struggles.

There is a catch that most resellers skip. The speed you actually get depends as much on the router’s processor as on the SIMs. Bonding is heavy work, so a small CPU caps the bonded throughput long before the networks do. Here is what each Teltonika platform really delivers.

Why the processor sets the ceiling

Bondix splits every packet across your connections, then a Bondix server reassembles the stream and encrypts it in transit. That fragmentation, reassembly, and encryption all run on the router’s CPU. A faster processor moves more bonded traffic. Therefore two routers with identical 5G modems can bond at very different speeds if their CPUs differ.

Your real bonded speed is the lowest of three limits: the router’s CPU headroom, your hosting plan’s throughput cap, and the combined speed of the SIMs on the day. Plan for all three, not just the SIMs.

Bonding on the RUTM5x series

The RUTM50, RUTM52, and RUTM56 are strong 5G routers. For bonding, though, their processor holds the bonded link to roughly 180 to 200 Mbps in Bondix’s testing. The RUTM52 carries two independent 5G modems, so it can bond two SIMs inside one box. The CPU, not the modems, sets the ceiling.

That is still ample for live streaming, resilient site connectivity, and most event work, where a stable 20 to 50 Mbps of upload matters more than raw peak speed. Therefore, if you need a single compact box for a broadcast feed with true multi-network resilience, the RUTM52 does the job.

Higher throughput with the RUTC50 and TRB501

The RUTC50 has a faster processor and can push a bonded link up to around 500 Mbps. It carries a single 5G modem, so on its own it bonds that 5G SIM with a wired WAN or Wi-Fi as WAN.

To bond two 5G paths for full mobile resilience, pair it with a Teltonika TRB501 5G gateway. The TRB501 handles a second 5G SIM and feeds that connection into the RUTC50’s WAN port over Ethernet. The RUTC50 then bonds both 5G paths into one tunnel and breaks out with a single IP. The older TRB500 reached end of life in 2026, so the TRB501 is the current choice, with 2.5 Gbps Ethernet and a Release 16 modem.

Remember the hosting cap. To use the full 500 Mbps you also need a hosting plan rated to 500 Mbps, such as the Ultimate tier.

What is coming: the Teltonika RUTP series

Teltonika has not officially announced the RUTP range yet, so treat this as a forward look. Early indications point to a high-performance bonding platform built around a faster processor.

The expected RUTP52 pairs two 5G modems with that faster CPU and should bond at around 750 to 800 Mbps, roughly four times a RUTM52. A single-modem sibling, likely the RUTP50, is expected to sit alongside it for high-speed single-SIM work. We will update this page with confirmed specifications when Teltonika publishes them. As a result, if you are speccing a high-bandwidth bonded deployment for later in the year, the RUTP52 is the one to watch.

Which router should you choose?

Match the router to the throughput you need, then match the hosting plan to the router.

There is no point buying 500 Mbps of router if your plan caps you at 100. Size the two together.

Can the RUTM52 bond two 5G SIMs?

What is the fastest Teltonika router for Bondix right now?

The RUTC50, at up to 500 Mbps. Pair it with a TRB501 to bond two 5G paths. For more than 500 Mbps, the unannounced RUTP52 is the expected next step.

Why do I need a TRB501 with the RUTC50?

The RUTC50 has one 5G modem. The TRB501 adds a second 5G connection over Ethernet, so the RUTC50 can bond two mobile networks rather than one. The TRB500 is end of life, so use the TRB501.

Is the RUTP52 available to buy?
